GOP candidates dismiss importance of having their elections signs in a yard with a Confederate flag

Republican candidates responded to concerns voiced in a letter to the Enterprise editor of their signs being placed near a Confederate flag. Each said it was a non-issue and that the flag was not connected to themselves or their campaign. The homeowner said that her son put up the flag to honor history, while the letter writer decried the flag as standing for racism and an army that fought for slavery and against the United States.
